Built in 1854, the historic Yturria Bank Building was the first local private financial institution in South Texas. At the time, its earthen cellar served as a hiding place in case of bandit raids. Today, the site offers a fantastic commercial location in the heart of downtown Brownsville, near the international bridge, bus station and other shopping & dining locales. This property offers a separate street entrance to the second floor, double-wide alley access doors and a unique private parking garage accessed from the alley. The building has been well-maintained and has carried the Texas State Historical Building designation since 1962. As such, property taxes are low, and the return on investment is high.
